The post speaks respectfully to the spiritual and cultural position of the whale in many societies such as the coastal/saltwater peoples of Australia, which stand in stark contracts to the ‘right’ to hunt whales that are the focus of divisive and increasingly undemocratic/unrepresentative discussions in the International Whaling Commission.
